PRESENTATIONS ON OPEN SOURCE AND FREE SOFTWARE TOOLS FOR VIDEO AND AUDIO PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION
 
WHAT: Presentations will cover the ins and outs of open-source media authoring only using free software.  Topics will include installing the Ubuntu operating system, and nesting on a USB key creating a portable system useable on any computer system available.
 
Video and audio capturing, audio/video editing, compositing, compression, and streaming will be presnted by multimedia software developers.

Each workshop participant will receive a bootable USB key with the software packages covered within the workshop.
 
THERE ARE NO COSTS FOR ATTENDENCE. BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP IF YOU HAVE ONE. 
 
FOR WHOM: independent media video and audio producers that want to learn about the uses of open source and free software tools for their work.

Interested participants can be part of the live stream on May 20, when the workshop will stream video to Canada House, London, UK during the opening presentation of the Arctic Perspective Initiative exhibition from 10.30am-12.30pm.
